Cold Weather Policy

For the safety of our community, all in-person activities at the Stroke Life Center are canceled when any of the following apply:

  1. The outside temperature is 15°F or below. This applies regardless of precipitation or road conditions.

  2. Level 1 Snow Advisory

The Stroke Life Center closely monitors weather conditions to ensure the safety of our survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and staff.

This page will be updated whenever weather may impact in-person programs or center operations.


Weekly Support Group

When in-person activities are canceled due to weather, our weekly support group will still be held virtually via Zoom.

What This Means for Other Programs

When the temperature threshold is met or there is a Level 1 Snow Advisory:

  • All in-person programs and classes are canceled

  • Individual sessions will be rescheduled

  • The center is considered closed for on-site activities

Weather-related updates are shared through:

  • Email notifications

  • Social media posts

Participants are encouraged to check this page before traveling to the center during winter weather.


Weather-related decisions are made with consideration for:

  • Participant and caregiver safety

  • Mobility and accessibility needs

  • Transportation reliability

  • Staff and volunteer travel conditions
