Recovery Didn’t End At Discharge
New Year. Shared Strength. Hope in Action.
Most stroke survivors don’t stop recovering—they stop getting support.
That’s the gap the Stroke Life Center exists to fill.
January isn’t about starting over. It’s about continuing—continuing progress, connection, and care long after formal therapy ends. Here, recovery is not rushed. It’s supported. And it’s shared.
“Recovery doesn’t end at discharge. Community is where healing continues.”
Community Spotlight: Progress You Can Feel
Every week, the center comes alive with determination and encouragement.
Survivors push through frustration to regain skills. Caregivers find understanding in a room that just gets it. Clinicians extend care beyond the clinical setting—meeting people where they are.
Progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s quieter:
A survivor speaking up in group for the first time
A caregiver realizing they are not alone
A volunteer watching confidence return
These moments may be small—but they are life-changing.
“I came here thinking I was done recovering. Now I know I’m still becoming.”
What’s Happening at the Center
January reflects what works:
Weekly peer-led support groups that create routine and belonging
Therapeutic and wellness programs that support ongoing recovery
Caregiver education and connection—because caregivers need support too
If you’re new to the Stroke Life Center, this is your invitation: come as you are.
If you’ve been with us awhile—thank you for helping make this space safe, welcoming, and real.
One of our most-loved community traditions is returning.
Our Stroke Life Center Euchre Tournaments are officially on the calendar.
Each evening includes a beginner’s table (no experience required), cash prizes, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction items, and a light meal before play begins.
We’re grateful to share that J Bowen & Company is our Cash Prize Sponsor for all four tournaments.
Every dollar raised supports Stroke Life Center programs—allowing us to continue offering services at zero cost to survivors and caregivers.
Sponsorship Opportunity: Light Meal Sponsor
We are currently seeking Light Meal Sponsors for individual tournaments. This support helps us create a warm, welcoming start to each evening while keeping the event accessible.
Interested? Contact Lisa Humphrey at lisah@strokelifecenter.org.
Watch for our upcoming Euchre Tournament Flyer for full details.
“This is the first place where I didn’t have to explain our story. They already understood.”
Why Your Support Matters
Because of generous donors and sponsors, the Stroke Life Center provides life-changing programs at zero cost to survivors and caregivers.
Your support helps provide peer connection beyond rehab, therapeutic and wellness programming, caregiver education, and a welcoming community space.
This isn’t short-term relief—it’s long-term recovery. Thank you for investing in dignity, independence, and hope.
Honoring Grief, Holding Space
Our community experiences life in all its complexity. Loss and grief are part of the human story—and when one of us hurts, we all feel it.
The Stroke Life Center remains a place where it’s okay to slow down, pause, and lean on one another. Strength doesn’t mean carrying everything alone—it means knowing where you’re supported.
Looking Ahead
As the year unfolds, we remain focused on sustaining and expanding programs, strengthening partnerships, engaging donors committed to long-term impact, and planning meaningful events that bring people together.
Everything we do is designed to keep the Stroke Life Center accessible, credible, and sustainable—for years to come.
As we begin a new year, we invite you to stay connected—whether that means attending a group, sharing our mission, volunteering, sponsoring an event, or making a gift.
